The Story…
After struggling at school for a while, Aiden was diagnosed with a moderate bilateral hearing loss. Aiden’s parents were feeling overwhelmed with the new diagnosis, which devices he may need and what interventions may help him.
The outcome…
After getting to know Aiden’s specific case and understanding his current needs, Aiden and his mother were directed to an audiologist with extensive assessment experience and who also had the full range of hearing assistive devices Aiden could trial for personal and classroom use. Aiden was directed to a specialised speech therapist (who also had a degree in Audiology) for an assessment of his language skills and targeted intervention.

I was so glad Jacquie could direct us to an audiologist and speech therapist who had a deep and specialised understanding of Aiden’s issues. Finding out Aiden had a hearing loss was quite shocking and I felt so much better when we could fast track to a starting point that was tailored to Aiden’s needs. Aiden had made good progress and now he has now hearing aids and according to the teacher, his behaviour, confidence, speech and participation in the class have improved a lot.”
